Setting the Scene (Litsperation Challenge)

Hey everyone, I am back with my first litsperation challenge for the new school year! For this litsperation challenge, I drew a scene from The Perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. This book was also made into a movie. I chose my favourite quote from the book and incorporated it into my drawing.
My drawing is based on the scene near the end of the book where Charlie, Sam and Patrick (a.k.a. Nothing) were driving through the tunnel. The drawing shows what they would see when they are just about out of the darkness. The lights from buildings, yellow glowing street lamps and colourful traffic lights filling the night sky. The quote on the picture reads: "And you fly out of the tunnel onto the bridge. And there it is. The city. A million lights and buildings and everything seems as exciting as the first time you saw it. It really is a grand entrance." (Page 191-192 The Perks of being a Wallflower) I picked this quote, as I feel it gives a sense of joy. The book itself is about a boy named Charlie. Charlie was never the happiest boy, especially going into high school. He didn't have any friends, that is, until he met Sam and Patrick - two seniors. Sam and Patrick became Charlie's friends; they were able to show Charlie how to live life happily. Even though he liked Sam, Charlie started dating Sam's friend, Mary Elizabeth. After an awful mistake made on Charlie's part, his friendship with Sam is at stake. With a book that is a bit sad, I liked the joyful ending.
The movie was also good, however like most movies it wasn't quite as good as the book. My favourite quote from the movie was: "You are not a sad story. You are alive. And you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder. And you're listening to that song with those people who you love most in this world. And in this moment, I swear, we are infinite."
